MercsCon is not a public convention with special guests and cosplay competitions. Instead it is a conference for all members of the Mandalorian Mercs community, regardless of if they are official or not. All you need to register and attend is a forum account!
Simply put, it is an opportunity to meet in a social environment and lose the misconceptions that everyone may have had about each other. We will also be able to take the opportunity to have panels with different levels of membership to help work together to improve the club.
In addition to panels there will be social activities such as an X-Wing tournament, a bash that includes beverages, and other opportunities to get to know your fellow Mercs.

You may purchase a full weekend pass, a pass for each day, a pass to the Friday Night Party or a Saturday Dinner pass. These items are available in the Mandalorian Mercs Store now!
Each day pass allows access to the conference from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm each day. After 5:00 pm you will be required to leave. The Friday Night Party and Saturday Dinner passes allow access to those events during the evening.

The Shores Resort & Spa is a luxury Daytona Beach resort that will provide many amenities to our members. Including breakfast every day of the con (3 days) and dinner on Friday and Saturday nights, an easily configurable conference hall, which we have ownership of 24/7 over the 3 day period, A private beach area for members that members have EXCLUSIVE access to. In addition there are breathtaking views of Daytona Beach, the Atlantic and Intracoastal Waterway.

How to Book
Deposit booking is currently open to all members.
Please contact Coreysnaps using this form if you have special needs or children BEFORE paying your deposit.
The Deposit is a fixed $200 per room and must be paid for by a member of the Mercs (of any tier), this is non-refundable as the money will go straight to the hotel. This will come off the overall price of the room.
You must state the names of the party within your chosen room selection, any one of these party members may make further payments. Children are classed as under 18s and may not make payements.
Once you have paid the deposit and named the members who will be sharing the rooms, any one of those named members may place a payment towards the overal cost. This means that members of the group can pay for their own portion of the room share directly to the club, as opposed to having one member sorting all the payments out.
Final payments must be made by September 9th 2018.
The hotel is flexible on room space and *can* house up to 9 members via 2 rooms, you can also extend your stay at the same given room rate if you intend to make a holiday of it. Please contact Coreysnaps using this form. if you need to configure your stay BEFORE paying your deposit.
Ken and Corey went all over Florida to vet several hotel packages, and while there were cheaper venues, this was the cheapest best all-round offer they could find.
It is important to know that the State of Florida applies taxes to hotel stays and their amenities. Most hotels only advertise the pre tax price to entice customers and some hotels also place a service charge per day. The below figures include all taxes and charges, so what you are asked for is what you pay. No hidden surprises.

We are aware that the figure at first glance looks expensive, however, compared to other options and looking into the breakdown of fees, you may find that the deal is actually a very good one. Here's the breakdown of what you get.
1. Your room for the nights you specify, with the option of an Ocean view if you are one of the first to book.
2. Breakfast every day of the con (3 days) and dinner on Friday and Saturday nights.
3. An easily configurable conference hall, which we have ownership of 24/7 over the 3 day period.

1. What is MercsCon exactly?

2. Con? So is this a convention then?
No, it is a conference, where we will be able to get some administration work done, then spend time together and having fun. We are unable to sell tickets to non-members as per our agreement with LFL, so we cannot have a general convention. A non-member is defined as anyone who does not have a forum account with the MMCC.
3. Where and when is it?
The venue is in Daytona Beach at the Shores Resort & Spa from 9th to 11th of November 2018
4. Why Daytona Beach, Florida? Why not XXX?
One of the main focuses of the event is that all of the members of the Council are in one place to perform panels and get involved in some of the more serious aspects of the running of the club. This means that the club needs to ensure that these members are present. After discussion and the recognition that 3 of our Council members actually reside in Florida and it would be cheapest for our non-US based members to get to, it was decided that this would be the best location for our first event.
Remember, whilst it is based in the US, the club is an International one and we have to consider the easiest options for everyone.
5. How long will it last?
The event will be over 3 days, the Council will be working together before that and getting stuff sorted, as well as a crew of members who volunteer to help out. However, around those days, for those who want to turn it into a holiday there'll be plenty of time for people to go out and do things together.
6. Can I volunteer?
Not right at the moment, a small team of members have been brought together for immediate organisational purposes but we will be looking for volunteers as soon as we know we have a venue and accommodation.
Hotel staff will be covering a lot of the roles, this is inclusive in the price, so we will utilise them first over having members take their time out of their day.
7. Will you be block booking a hotel?
Yes, in fact currently this is the only option available.
8. Wouldn't it be cheaper to get a cheap room elsewhere and sell tickets?
Currently we're charging $2600 for four people to stay for four nights. That's including: room, fees, taxes, service charges, two dinners, three breakfasts, an open bar (on Friday), entry to the conference, and swag.

9. What kind of activities do you plan?
The first day will be morning check in followed by an opening by the Council.
There will be other fun things for members who are not interested in a particular workshop.
We will also be arranging external events for partners or members who want to see the sights.
Ideas have included:
T-shirt and patch swap meet.
Keldabe Talk Radio recorded in front of a live audience.
Mando Card game (If it is ready!).
Workshops and build parties (Hosted by participating BVC members).
Clan based minigames/competition.
10. I have an idea, who do I send it to?
Ideas are more than welcome. Though we won't have time to organise everyone's ideas that we want to.

11. Are family members welcome?
Yes, as long as a member books the room you can have up to 4 people per room. If your family don't wish to attend the event then we will also have some outside activities run by the local clan.
There are also discounts for younger members.
12. Will there be VIP tickets?
No, our deal with the hotel depends on the amount of rooms we manage to secure.
13. Do I need to bring my kit?
No, there is no need to bring your kit with you, this is a social event, however, those who do want to (or can afford to) there will be plenty of opportunities for photo ops and even joining the local clan on troops.
14. Will there be Merchandise?
There will definitely be merchandise sold up to the event. However, due to our agreement with LFL, the Mercs will not be able to sell Official Merchandise at the event. However, we will be allowing people to pick up their merchandise at the event that they have pre-paid for.
15. Can I pay in installments?
Absolutely, after the deposit is paid the store is set up to allow you to pay in increments of $50.
16. Am I able to book a member currently under sanction or banned from the club?
Any member banned from the club will not be able attend and any that attempt to enter will be asked to leave by security.
Members under sanction may be able to attend, but they will have to check with the Judicial Office BEFORE booking a room.
